What is EECP?

What is EECP?

It is not possible to provide sustained relief to your patients with coronary artery disease using a non-invasive treatment called EECP® Therapy. EECP Therapy is often used to treat patients who are not candidates for invasive procedures or who decline to have invasive procedures performed.

Treatment Regimen

Patients are usually treated with EECP for 1 hour a day, 5 days a week, for 7 weeks for a total of 35 hours; however, some patients may required more than 35 hours of treatment to achieve optimal benefit. Many people have continued their employment while receiving treatment by scheduling their sessions before or after work.

Patient Selection

EECP treatment is indicated for patients who have been diagnosed with an angina equivalent classification, are not readily amendable to surgical intervention or have disabling angina.

Medicare Guidelines and Insurance Coverage

EECP therapy is FDA approved. Medicare patients eligible for EECP are those who have been diagnosed with disabling angina (CCS Angina Class III or IV or an angina equivalent classification) and who, in the opinion of the cardiologists or cardiovascular surgeon are not readily amenable to surgical intervention.
