Laboratory
The vascular laboratory is a testing center used to evaluate the presence of vascular diseases. The Heart Group has two vascular laboratories – one in Evansville, Indiana and the other in Henderson, Kentucky.
Evansville Lab
Diane
Nunley, Registered Vascular Technologist, performs over 3,000 vascular studies
per year in the Evansville office. Her extensive technical experience has been
obtained by working in the hospital and medical practice setting. Dr. John
Ansbro, medical director for the vascular lab, oversees the operation of this
testing center.
Ms. Nunley was instrumental in obtaining the ICAVL accreditation for the Evansville office.

Our
labs are accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of
Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). To receive this "approval", our testing
centers must successfully complete a rigorous evaluation by the ICAVL. Only
centers providing compliance with current standard techniques and a high level
of accuracy are awarded the certificate. Not all testing centers have applied
for or will be granted accreditation by the ICAVL, but we feel this
accreditation exemplifies dedication to providing patients with state-of-the-art
care. In the future, we will continue to meet the high standards that the ICAVL
requires. We see this as our responsibility to our patients.
All test results at the Evansville and Henderson offices are interpreted by The Heart Group’s cardiovascular surgeons. Our surgeons have many years of training and experience in the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis of vascular diseases. Also, our surgeons meet the continuing education requirements as required by ICAVL.
Henderson Vascular Lab
Marjorie Walker, is the Registered Vascular Technologist for the Henderson Vascular Lab who has over six years of experience, and performs 1,200 echo and vascular studies per year. Dr. John Ansbro, medical director for the vascular lab, oversees the operation of this testing center.
